and they think it's all over...

ok so it's not quite over, but very nearly! today I spent the day buying stuff for revision, and then planning my revision! (have yet to start the actual revision!!!) I do enjoy planning revision so much more than actually doing it, especially as my new brightly coloured notebook will look so much more exciting with nothing in, than with my attempt to revise and understand what I'm supposed to have learnt this year!

Iolanthe went really well. All the costumes looked really good, and everyone who came to see it said how good it was! however, I have to say I'm missing the rather manic lifestyle more than I thought I would! I'm not used to having so much free time!

its been a long time...

I keep reading other people's blogs, at the same time as being on facebook, checking my email, you know the sort of thing, when you jsut don't want to do any real work, and realised that if other people do the same, there there is never anything on my blog, so I desided I should probably write something!!!!

At the moment I am realising quite how much i have to do in the next 6 weeks, with probably less than half of it being my degree. Why did I say I'd do costumes and choreography! anyway, the show is going quite well, and should be amazing when it is finished, complete with fairies, wings, singing and dancing!! I'm looking forward to it!

Anyway had better get back to my essay, on the effects of dams on the dowstream river regime! (how exciting!!!!)

not that I'm complaining...

I'm really loving the weather at the moment. I'd much rather it was like this than hot! however while sat at my desk (trying to do some work!!) the sun is shinning right in my face, which does make seeing the computer screen rather a challange!
anyway, back to work, this week I've got an essay to write, another one to start reading for and rehearsals every night for Pirates of Penzance at the weekend (anyone want to come?), before starting on costumes and choreography for Iolanthe (or next show)

Rain

this morning I had to take a trip onto campus. When I set out the weather was cloudy, but there was no evidence of rain. I arrived on campus and locked up my bike, and went to see my tutor. As I went into the geography department there was a rather loud clap of thunder. As I prepared to leave the geography building 10 min later, the rain began to fall. Now this rain storm was no normal rain storm!! So I put on my 'pack-a-mack' (I had desided that just in case it rained I should have a small coat!) and stepped outside. Within 30 seconds I was drenched. so I desided to cycle home anyway. When I got home I was able to wring out my trousers, and empty my shoes of water, they are now sat in the airing cuboard trying to dry before I have to go out this evening!

a rather interesting fact...

did you know that poultry have the most fertile manure, followed by sheep and donkey's with cow's having the least fertile!

I found this out while doing soem reading for my dissertation, I feel that there many be many more of this sort of post over the next few months!

Wimbledon and rain...

...go together like strawberries and cream.
This certainly seemed true yesterday.
We had tickets for court 2, to watch Martina Hingis amongst other people. However as we drove up from my grandmas spots of rain began falling on the windscrean. We arrived and the rain seemed to stop, so we went to get a drink and then to find out seats. the covers were taken of and the referee do a tour of the courts seeing if they were ok. After several announcement play started at 1.00. An hour after it was supposed to begin. The game was beginning to look very exciting, although the first set went to hingis, and then it started to rain. An announcement was given saying that the rain was expected to last 1 to 2 hours, and that hopefully play would resume shortly. However the rain seemed only to get worse! Updates were given about every hour, and each time they said that the rain was due to stop soon. However after about 4 cups of coffee (well for my grandma) and at 7.30 they decided that the rain was not going to clear enough for the courts to dry before it was dark. As we were leaving the car park, the rain stopped completely and the sky began to clear!!!
So in the 2 times that I have been to Wimdledon I've seen a grand total of 1 hour tennis. I'll now just have to watch it on TV, at least if it rains I'll actually have other things to do than just sit around!!!!
