The Gondoliers

At the weekend I was in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Gondoliers' for which as well as being in the cast I was head of costumes (and having found out the night before the wardrobe girl was ill, i ended up doing that as well)
After a rather funny dress rehearsal on friday which involved one scene where I had to pour tea for the future Queen and the Grand Inquisitor, I realised that the only place I could stand to do this was right infront of the Grand Inquisitor, so thoughtout his speach I was standing right in the way!!!!! however all is not lost as this did get me nominated for a 'name and shame' award at the after show party. (I lost to the forsaid queen, who had sneezed onto her beautify ivory gloves just before she had to dance with one of the kings, and so wiped her glove down her skirt!!)
However the actuall show went amazingly, and it was so cool to see everyone on stage dressed as a victorian, (at some point when I've got pictures other than my costume pictures I'll put some up, so everyone can see how amazing they all looked!!!)
It's so strange how you work so hard for months for a show which is performed and cleared up (except for the costumes, now waiting to be boxed up, sitting on my floor) within 3 days!
However now I don't have rehearsals, I can thing about all the work I have to do for the rest of term before I go to Kenya!
